It's almost Donkey Derby Days look below to see what that means
Welcome to my website.  There are many reasons to choose an insurance agent and trust is one of the biggest.  Can you trust your agent to find the right coverage at the lowest price for you?  Can you trust your agent to be there when you need them?  Can you trust your agent to put your hard earned dollars before their personal interest in maximizing their commissions?  I hope you will consider me as the right agent for you.  As you look through this website, I'll try to explain why I think you can trust me.

You might wonder about the picture to the left.  I wanted you to see that, here in Cripple Creek, we 'clean up' rather nicely.
Seriously, my wife Nancy and I are members of the Gold Camp Victorian Society.  For many occasions we get to dress up.  It's sort of like Halloween for adults.

Please take the opportunity to click on the several pages of this website (the choices are on top).  These pages will help me tell you why I believe you and I can become partners in making sure you have all of the insurance you need, and none of the coverage you don't need..

I'd like to earn your trust

Still Local, Still Open 8-1

Good News! For several years I have been looking for the right partner to provide additional hours of availability and service for you. He’s here! – Barrett Bartels – an extremely competent individual who has a great staff of agents ready to serve you when I’m not in my office here in Cripple Creek. Nothing changes as far as my ability to help you with your insurance needs.

My office will continue to be open from 8 AM until 1 PM Monday through Friday and then the improvement begins. From 1 PM until 5 PM, my partners at the Barrett Bartels agency will answer my phone and will have full access to your records. As fully licensed agents, they can handle everything I can – new policies, changes to existing policies, take payments and they can answer any questions you may have.

Barrett’s staff can accept checking account numbers, credit or debit cards over the phone. If you need to pay using cash, you can bring it to me in the morning or you can buy a prepaid debit card from Family Dollar or a postal money order at the post office before calling in the afternoon. At night and weekends, you can pay by calling the company you are insured with. I asked Barrett to tell us a little about his agency:

When you look for an insurance agency, do you want the lowest price or a relationship? At Barrett Bartels Agency, our team of independent insurance agents work together with you to shop from dozens of Insurance companies to find the right policy to fit your needs. Each member of our team specializes in a specific type of Insurance. Whether you own a business and require general liability Insurance and worker’s comp Insurance or you just need to protect your family with home insurance, car insurance, and rental property insurance, our team can help.
Barrett’s Team:

Barrett Bartels – Owner
Christina Quintana – Commercial Account Manager
Curtis Rember – Producer/Agent
Kimberly Alire – Personal Lines Managing Agent
Ron Casias – Producer/Agent
Michelle Goldberg – Personal Account Manager/Producer
Vivian Bartels – Commercial Lines Managing Agent

And now they have joined with me to make Gold Camp Insurance even better!

More good news! As an independent agent, I was always pleased to check several different companies to find you the best value; Barrett has many additional carriers – such as Safeco, Auto-Owners and Nationwide. He has technology that, once we put your information into his system, it will automatically get quotes from dozens of different companies allowing me or my new partner agents to provide the best policy for you.

I’m excited to expand my availability for you. From 8 AM to 5 PM weekdays you can now call 719 689 3022 and know that someone from Gold Camp Insurance is waiting there to help you.

Thank you for being part of the Gold Camp Insurance family. We are ready to help with all of your insurance needs.

Donkey Derby Days

Now in its 86th year, Donkey Derby Days tops the list of favorite Cripple Creek events. People from all over the world descend on downtown, drawn by a chance to watch a race inspired by the town’s resident donkey herd, believed to be distant relatives of the original donkeys from the town’s Gold Rush days. Enjoy games, live entertainment, heritage competitions and don’t miss meeting our new, baby donkeys!

The origins of this popular Colorado donkey festival date back to the 1930s, when local businessman Charley Lehew thought a Cripple Creek festival would attract people in the summer months. It wasn’t long before he and two business partners settled on donkey racing. Together, they built a race track, solicited advertising and arranged concessions and entertainment in time for the first-ever Donkey Derby Days festival.
Today, this two-day jamboree is one of the most popular of all the Cripple Creek events held throughout the year, and admission to this exciting Cripple Creek festival is 100% FREE.

The donkey races aren’t the only things going on this weekend, however. Visit our street vendors, enjoy our live entertainment and participate in a host of other family activities, such as our heritage competitions or our activities for children–guaranteed to make this weekend the best Donkey Derby Days ever. Don’t forget Fido–we have a dog show where your best friend can compete for prizes!
